Communication

Levi: Mom, where's that broken keyboard? [So he can pretend to type while I try to accomplish actual work on the computer.]

Mom: I don't know.

Levi: Where is it?

Mom: I don't know where it is.

Levi: Where's that broken keyboard?

Mom [looking deeply into Levi's eyes]: If I knew, I would tell you.

[pause]

Levi: Do you know where it is?

Mom: No.

Levi exits stage right.

  1. Applause from the audience.

    So...did he/you ever find it?

  2. Hysterical. Gotta love kid-conversations. Naomi is in a talk-non-stop phase so I often just get into "right....right....right...." mode. Sometimes I think I agree to some pretty crazy things.

  3. Take it as a compliment. I think it means he just can't believe that you actually don't know. Moms just know these things, don't they? I remember doing the same thing to my mom...
